I keep seeing people rant about commissions and adoptables. Now, I for one haven't ever gave a fuck about getting an adopt, but what's the appeal? As for commissions, well, I haven't seen people complain about their commishes from more expensive artists.
Point commissions are bullshit. You spend a whole $1.50 on something and whatdya expect? I would never pay anyone less than 500 points for a single backgroundless chibi. Paying less than 200 points just doesn't seem worth it to the artist since that amasses to a whole $2. I don't bother with cheaper artists (Well that's not true, there's 2 I can vouch for who charge 20-200 points per who are skilled and make the commissions just as well as their own personal art).

I guess I don't expect anyone to agree, but when people make those "HAY WANNA COMMISH YOU" blogs and I look to see what they wanna spend and all the people denied because their good art at a fair price is "too expensive" paired with those blogs that complain about "I spent points on this piece and it's crappy" Well... I can only make the connection that just because 100 is a big number doesn't mean it translates to a big number.

Am I justifying a cheap artist's lack of care and slopped together commissions when you do give them points?
Hell no! I'm pointing out the flaw in charging so little. Charge what you think the effort is worth is what I'm saying. If people like your art, it will sell. Remember: Quality > Quantity

*shrug* Just sayin :icongoku-plz:

Agree!

The only thing I never know is if my prices are fair or not, since I am slow and got issues while doing them...
